Position Summary

The Head of Strategic Initiatives will ensure the timely and accurate completion of mission critical projects. The person in this role will be responsible for providing analytical support, consulting and cross-functional implementation leadership as an extension of our executive team.

In this Head of Strategic Initiatives role, you will gain hands-on experience in how to run a software company with one of the world’s leading private equity firms at your back. This role will give you a frontrow seat in seeing how a company leadership team works and an opportunity to influence and execute transformative strategies. The position has tremendous career growth opportunity, with the prospect to evolve into an executive leader within the Vista Equity Partners family.

The ideal candidate will have over nine years of post-undergrad or over six years of post-MBA strategy consulting experience at a top-tier firm. Some casework or exposure to the technology space is preferred but not required, however deep implementation, operational, and transformational experience is required.

Responsibilities

  • Partner to Finastra’s Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) and Executive Leadership Team o Lead cross-functional, high-impact projects as directed by the CSO

  • Work with and coordinate among functional executives to drive business results o Implement, coordinate, and improve Finastra and Vista best practices across all functional areas

  • Help Drive Organic and Inorganic Growth of the Business

  • Manage and complete the successful implementation of strategic initiatives that enable revenue growth and/or accelerate company profitability and efficiency

  • Determine, track, and report metrics that measure the successful implementation of various strategic projects and initiatives

  • Partner with the CSO and CFO on post-M&A activities to drive acquisition integration

  • Senior Leverage to External Stakeholders o Act as Finastra’s point of contact for interactions with Vista Equity Partners and its operating arm, the Vista Consulting Group

  • Be the company representative to identify significant risks to the business and work with CSO and external parties to resolve and mitigate these risks

  • Be the point of contact for any active or potential litigation issues

  • Represent CSO and executive leadership team in critical meetings, calls or events that the CSO is unable to attend

Requirements and Skills

• Must have a Bachelor’s degree; MBA highly preferred

• Must have 9-12 years’ operations experience with multiple assignments involving mergers and acquisition integration; top-tier consulting and software industry experience strongly preferred

• Demonstrated competency with implementing business processes and activity-based metrics involving leading success indicators

• Experience managing and leading teams, both directly and in matrixed environments

• Solid project management skills, having managed and successfully delivered multiple, complex projects on-time and on-budget

• Established business and financial acumen

• Robust analytical and quantitative skills, as well as attention to detail

• Resilient in the face of competing demands and conflict

• Demonstrated success in a high pressure, dynamic, fast-paced environment

• Proficient ability to drive change in a matrixed environment

• Executive presence, relationship building, strong decision making skills

• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills

• Open to travel/relocation
